Major Announcement

It is with mixed emotion that Finding Fortress is undergoing some lineup changes.

Finding Fortress

Finding Fortress vocalist/bassist Aaron Anderson, and drummer Francisco Reyes have decided to leave the band. This is in no way the end of Finding Fortress, nor will it stop us from producing our follow up album we promised our fans. Jim (FF guitarist) will replace Aaron's vocals on the new album, and for the recording Brendan and Jim will do the bass guitar recording on the new album. Aaron has written a statement for our fans to help everyone understand his decision, and we want everyone to know clearly: Finding Fortress' members are in no way in turmoil or at "odds" with each other.

Finding Fortress would like to thank Aaron and Frank for their 3 years of being valued members of the group. We would like our fans to know that even though this does mean we are not likely to play many live shows this summer, that we will be producing the new follow up album and working hard on that being released this year yet. The new album is entirely written and ready to be produced.

We would like to announce the addition of a great young musician and great young Christian named Ben Lodahl who has been enlisted to replace Francisco on the drums to record the new album. We will introduce Ben to you on the site soon! Clearly these personnel changes require some re-training and regrouping, so we will simply need some time to regroup and re-train ourselves for the role changes that such a personnel alteration creates which is why live shows will be sparce this year. This also means Finding Fortress will be auditioning bass players - so if you or someone you know feels they have the abilities, giftings, and most importantly calling - don't hesitate to contact us! Finding Fortress thanks our fans and looks forward to producing a fantastic follow up album this year.

Without further statement - here is Aaron's statement:

Dear Fans,

I write this message to inform you that as of today I have decided to no longer be a member of Finding Fortress. It is hard for me to put into words the change that God has put in my heart over these past several months, but I can tell you in all honesty that this change comes with months of prayer and thought along with the best of intentions; to continue giving all glory and honor to God the way I feel He has called me to do so.

As for my fellow brothers in Christ and former band mates, Jim, Brendan, and Frank, I have and will continue to remain best of friends with each of them. I want to make this clear to all of you as this may raise questions: my decision did not come about from disagreements or disharmony within the band or between band mates (like we so often see from most bands today), but rather a personal feeling and calling that I have in my own life. Jim, Brendan, and Frank have been given amazing gifts from Christ and together/individually they use these gifts for God’s glory. For that, I have the utmost respect for each of them and give thanks to God for blessing me with such great influences and friends. That said, due to my decision to leave Jim, Brendan, and Frank now face a time of decision making for themselves. They too are seeking where to go from here so with that I ask that you please keep them in your prayers as God continues to reveal His plan and direction in their lives, in His ministry, and in this band.

As for me, I don’t entirely know where I go from here, but I assure you whatever it is it will be to God’s glory. To all you fans, I can only say thank you for all your prayers and support in making Finding Fortress so spiritually rewarding for me. Your encouragement means so much to me and the band and will not be forgotten. Most importantly, my only hope is that God continue to use me as His servant to bring glory to Him and that you also experience the eternal joy found in Jesus as you give God the glory in all you do!

Thank you again for everything and God Bless,

Aaron
